A Disney nagyon rákapott a popszámokkal dúsított produkciókra, melyek elsősorban a tinédzsereket célozzák meg - sőt talán mondhatjuk is, hogy annál a felnőttnél, aki ilyeneket néz, van némi baj. A titkos popsztárról szóló Hannah Montana mellett igen sikeres a nálunk Szerelmes hangjegyek címmel vetített High School Musical is, melyből több film készült. A második rész átlagban 17,2 millió nézőt vonzott, ami a filmet a legnézettebb kábeles adássá emelte az Egyesült Államokban. A most hétvégén bemutatott Camp Rock, ha más kábeltévék kínálatával nem is feltétlenül vetekedhet, anyacsatornáján belül komoly sikert ért el: a Disney Channelön valaha vetített saját mozik közül - a High School Musical 2 után - a második legnézettebb lett, 8,9 millióan voltak kíváncsiak rá.
A Disney nem sokat teketóriázott, máris bejelentette, hogy sorozatot szeretne készíteni a film nyomán - a történet talán nem is annyira lényeges, inkább a zene és a közvetített hangulat a fontos, melyért a Jonas Brothers nevű tinibanda a felelős.
A srácok elég népszerűek a fiatalabbak körében, és a Disney is sokat foglalkozik velük: a testvérek karrierjéről reality készült, a Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream címmel, és a 2008-2009-es évadra egy másik sorozatot is terveznek velük, amely egyszerűen a J.O.N.A.S. címet viseli.

Disney Channel UK star Brad Kavanagh recently visited Birmingham's Bullring to promote the new Disney Cannel Exclusive film Camp Rock and to rock out with fans in the Camp Rock 'Rockeoke Recording Studio.
16-year-old Brad covers the track 'Here I Am' on the fim's soundtrack and during his visit to the Bullring he shared his love of all things Disney and gave fans a sneak preview of clips from the new film.
As part of the day's proceedings two local Disney mad sisters Emily (15) and Katie Smith (10) from Staffordshire interviewed their favourite Disney presenter... here's what Brad had to say to the girls...

Some hacker needs to go to work on the Disney computer that randomly mixes the same 10 plot lines and 15 young actors to create new movies and television shows. One of the character threads in there, that of the spoiled teenage diva, desperately needs to be excised; it is so very, very tired that it has begun to drag down any script it finds its way into.
Like the one for “Camp Rock,” a heavily promoted musical movie featuring the engaging Jonas Brothers and arriving Friday on the Disney Channel (with subsequent weekend showings on ABC and ABC Family). The movie has some bright spots, but so much of it revolves around the resident diva of the title camp that it’s hard to focus on the good stuff; you’re too annoyed at having this lazily imagined character shoved down your throat for the zillionth time.
