Camp Rock egy hely, ahol a tehetséges tinik kibontakozhatnak, és tovább növelhetik tudásukat. Mitchie Torres első nyarát tölti itt, de csupán egy feltétellel jöhetett el: anyjának segít a tábor konyhájában. Ezen a nyáron a híres énekes, Shane Gray is tanítani fog itt. Mitchie erről mit sem tud, de később mégis barátság alakul ki közöttük. Mitchie eközben eltitkolja, hogy ki is ő valójában, mert csak így illeszkedhet be a sikeresek és gazdagok közé. És itt kezdődnek a bonyodalmak...

The film debuted on the American Disney Channel on June 20, 2008. Camp Rock was the second DCOM to air on ABC's The Wonderful World of Disney after its premiere on Disney Channel, and was placed on the iTunes Store for digital purchase shortly after its premiere on Disney Channel. The film was watched by 8.9 million viewers on the night of its premiere, making it the second highest viewed DCOM behind High School Musical 2[1], and the third highest viewed TV movie behind High School Musical 2 and Merry Christmas Drake & Josh
